Zoppa Studio was started in East Hartford, CT by Michael Zoppa in 1978 as an outlet for his artistic creations. The demand for multiple signs and t-shirts pushed him to learning everything about screen printing. Homemade equipment and a steady flow of a variety of different types of work established a versatile company. In 1981 the parents basement business moved into a much larger basement and new equipment. A request from a customer for a sample t-shirt to match a popular poster caught on and catapulted the business into full scale production. Many new customers brought a larger portfolio of work that allowed the company to once again expand into its first commercial location purchased in 1985. The first full time employees were hired along with his wife, sister and parents. Of course it didn't take long before space was a problem and it was time to expand again to the neighboring larger building in 1989. More employees and a focus on printing for the advertising specialties companies allowed the addition of automatic equipment to handle the larger production runs. After 10 years in a two story building with several storage containers it became obvious that we could be more efficent and productive in a larger industrial building. In 1999 the decision was made to move the operation to a leased building in South Windsor. More equipment was added and a return to producing items that the previous facilities would not accommodate. Within three years land was purchased and a building was designed to meet our needs. In 2003 Zoppa Studio moved into its current location with 15,000 square feet dedicated to producing a wide variety of screen printed items. Over the past eight years we have expanded into digital wide format printing and uv screen printed items.
